1. melody /'melədɪ/
n.旋律;曲调；
不同的音乐风格对应的旋律：
Pop: catchy melody 顺口的
Instrumental/ classical: soothing melody 舒缓的
Rock: strong melody 强劲的
uplifting melody 振奋人心的
haunting melody 难以忘怀的
例句：
e.g. Classical music often has clean and soothing melodies which help to connect with people easily.
e.g. The uplifting melodies really helped bring people out of a bad mood.
2. hardcore /'hɑ:dkɔ:/
adj. 现代音乐极端的，硬核的，纯正的；
e.g. Their sound is hard-core punk. 硬核朋克摇滚
e.g. I respect how hardcore his rap has gotten. It makes me feel like I’m there with him in the streets.
adj. 狂热的
e.g. hardcore fans /supporters/ customer
e.g. We want to develop games that have a broader appeal beyond hard-core gamers
3. nostalgic /nə'stældʒɪk/
adj. 使人怀念过去的; 引起怀旧之情的
e.g. If you look at the words, they are as nostalgic as a song and that's its attraction.
e.g. I am a huge fan of Frankie. His nostalgic style of music is a real tear-jerker.
补充：tear-jerker 令人潸然泪下的东西。
adj. 恋旧的;怀旧的
搭配：be nostalgic for sth.
e.g. Many people were nostalgic for the good old days.
e.g. Many people plan for the future and, at the same time, feel nostalgic for the past.
4. tune /tjuːn/
n. 曲调;调子;主旋律
e.g. His songs have simple words and catchy tunes.
e.g. She was humming/ whistle a merry little tune.

习语补充：
(1) singing a different tune 改变注意；换了腔调
e.g. He bragged that the test was easy, but when he saw his grade he changed his tune.
(2) be out of / in tune with （不）适合;（不）匹配
e.g. His values are out of tune with the times.

e.g. Dean loves to listen to music but he can't carry a tune.

1. ancestor
n. 祖宗;祖先；
e.g. to worship the ancestors 祭祖
e.g. Twelve thousand years ago, our ancestors were primitive savages living in caves.
注：savage 野蛮人;未开化的人

需要区分的单词：
predecessor: /'priːdɪsesə/
n. a person who had a job or position before someone else. 更多侧重于工作上的前辈，前任等。
2. immediate
adj. 直系的；
Hospital visits are limited to immediate family. 直系亲属。
如：parents; spouses; children；grandparents
另有一个表达：nuclear family
核心家庭：范围更小，多指爸妈和小孩组成的家庭。
e.g. Today we tend to live in small nuclear families rather than large extended families.
注：extended family 大家庭
distant family 远房亲戚

互相关爱的；关系紧密的家庭、社区。
3. bond /ˈbɑːnd/
n. 纽带；联系；关系
e.g. family/kinship bonds 家庭/亲属关系
e.g. Family meals allow for conversation and strengthen the family bonds.
e.g. Lilo meets and forms an unbreakable bond with Stitch.
注：口语话题常用 strengthen/form/ forge bonds 表示亲情;友情;爱情等纽带关系。
v. 形成亲近关系 bond with sb.
e.g. We were strangers at first, but we bonded with each other quickly.
4. lineage /'lɪnɪɪdʒ/
n. 家系；家族；血统
They can trace their lineage back to the 18th century. 血统追溯到…
5. kinship
n. 亲属关系；
n. 亲切感；亲近感
搭配：feel a (sense of) kinship
e.g. He feels a strong kinship with his admirers and fans.
